Spiner is a posture monitor for Mac and Windows. It uses your webcam to notice when you lean toward the screen and nudges you to sit back. Face detection runs entirely on your computer, and no video is ever recorded or sent anywhere.
Long description
Hours at a screen pull the head forward, and at a 30-degree tilt the neck carries roughly 18 kg instead of 5. Spiner catches that drift as it happens. You calibrate once in your healthy sitting position; from then on Spiner checks your distance to the screen and sends a notification when you cross the line you set. In the background it takes one look per minute and switches the camera off in between. Spiner also includes 38 guided desk exercises and reminders for breaks, water and eye rest. It costs €2.99 a month or €29.99 a year after a 14-day free trial. Spiner is made by King Gilgamesh s.r.o. in Prague.
